Harlem Heights Improvement Association works to improve infrastructure and bring programs to residents, represents the neighborhood’s interests and desires regarding programs and services, and serves as the voice of the community to elected officials. The Association operates a food pantry and thrift store.

Literacy/Lee Adult Literacy: Literacy Volunteers of Lee County (LVLC) is a nonprofit agency that provides adult literacy programs through trained volunteers in Lee County, Florida. Our adult students want to learn to read and write, or they are speakers of other languages and wish to learn English.

United Way: United Way is working to improve the quality of life for all people in the community by coordinating the local human service network and providing resources to United Way supported programs. Their goal is to create long-lasting change. Search online for community resources.

Brightest Horizons Preschool: Brightest Horizons is located on 10320 Gladiolus Drive in the Harlem Heights section of Fort Myers, Florida.  The program provides a secure and enriching environment that serves a widely diverse population of children from the African American, Caucasian, Creole, Haitian, and Hispanic nationalities of their working parents.

Florida Self-Directed Care Resources: Florida Self-Directed Care (SDC) helps individuals with mental illness advocate for their own care and well-being. Resources on their website are helpful for individuals without mental illness as well. Pages include links for public and private aid, education, employment, and more.

Harlem Heights Community Park: Harlem Heights Community Park sits on 2 acres in South Ft. Myers off Gladiolus Road. It has a ballfield/soccer field, 3 basketball courts, large pavilion and 2 playgrounds.  Park hours are from Dawn – 9:00pm 7 days a week.
