Three new members have joined The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center’s board of directors. The organization works to build strong, self-sufficient families in the Harlem Heights neighborhood of Fort Myers. Jamie Fautz, Carson Pearlman, and Susan Scott were installed at the December board meeting.
Jamie Fautz relocated to Sanibel Island in 2015 after living in Costa Rica with her husband, Christian, and daughter, Eden. While abroad, she taught at the La Paz Community School, a dual-language, IB-accredited school where all cultures and socioeconomic levels are openly embraced and celebrated.
Fautz and her husband were involved in the school’s growth – organizing community fundraisers and serving on the board. In addition, she started a wedding and events planning company and volunteered on committees to raise money for local families and community initiatives. She became fluent in Spanish and loves speaking the language whenever given the opportunity. She taught for three years at The Sanibel School. She made a career change and was the marketing and events Coordinator at Marine Max in Fort Myers for the past three years. Fautz recently joined her husband and his successful real estate sales and investment company – The Fautz Group. They moved to Fort Myers and love living in the River District. She enjoys helping others and cares about the well-being of all of our community members. Fautz is most excited to get to know the families in the Harlem Heights area and work alongside the other members of The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center’s board of members.
Carson Pearlman was born and raised in Fort Myers, is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended high school at Evangelical Christian School. He is a United States Airforce Veteran, graduated from the United States Air Force Academy Prep School, and Jacksonville University where he played Division I college football. He works at Case Pearlman, a financial advisory firm, as an investment advisor representative, providing reviews, education, and working closely with retirement plans and individual wealth management. Pearlman has volunteered for the foundation’s Thanksgiving outreaches and is thrilled to have the opportunity to have a greater understanding of the organization and help it grow.
Susan Scott is the product of a West Point family and spent her younger years traveling the United States & Europe, attending an array of schools. She landed in the Virginia area and having developed a love of the arts, graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a degree in Fine Arts. Scott’s career in Washington centered around Commercial Design with a focus on restaurants & hotels. She relocated to Wilmington, D.E., where she specialized in hospitals and long-term care facilities. Throughout her career Scott enjoyed painting watercolors and art quilting. Over the past ten years, her passion has been competitive ballroom dancing and she competes worldwide. She also owned two dance studios. Scott’s late husband, Craig, was active on the boards of The Heights Foundation and Heights Early Learning (formerly GLAD Kids). She is inspired and motivated by the foundation’s commitment to the children and families of Harlem Heights and looks forward to helping the organization reach its goals.

The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center 2022 officers are Jan-Erik Hustrulid, chair; Armando Llechu, vice-chair; Tom Lytton, secretary, and treasurer; Kathryn Kelly, president, and CEO.
